![]() ![]() The main issue here is that if I’m in Desktop 2, with Safari on full screen, and I trigger the Visor with Option+` shortcut, the Visor always opens in Desktop 9 (the last one) which is extremely cumbersome and useless, since I have to travel back to Desktop 2 then, via a direct keyboard switching or through a lot of trackpad gestures. The rest of the Desktops are completely empty and I use them, ad-hoc, when needed. Desktop 1 is for many, non-full windowed apps and Desktop 2 is for Safari full-screen. By reading a lot of topics in this forum, I found darwin’s hidden setting here to fix it! But why isn’t this the default behaviour or an option in the GUI, that I don’t know…Īs a user of TotalSpaces2, I have 9 desktops all the time. Long story short: File management on the Mac is a joy since I found TotalFinder! It keeps the good parts of Finder and adds some excellent features to make it more suitable for a software development environment. TotalFinder adds a pretty handy “copy path” menu to the context menu especially time-saving if combined with the Terminal. The (optional) Visor mode can make TotalFinder to slide into view at the press of a shortcut key.TotalFinder can show directories on top, just as I was used to.Although this is the most prominent feature, it is not as important to me as the dual mode and the other tweaks. TotalFinder adds tabs to reduce the clutter. No more aligning Finder windows before dragging and dropping files! Pretty much like the good old Norton Commander and its clones (Midnight Commander, …). TotalFinder has a “dual mode”, which shows two adjacent views. It adds several very handy functions, which helped me to overcome my annoyances: Then I stumbled upon TotalFinder, an add-on for the OS X Finder. There’s no easy way to open a finder window without using the mouse, unless you remember to keep always one window open, so you can Command-Tab to it. ![]()
